My go to camera

The Kodak S100 EF point and shoot is my every day camera. It's always in my bag, much like people can't leave home without checking for their keys, mobile, purse. I also have to make sure I remember my inconspicuous bright red camera. Or I feel a little lost.

I got it for £4 about 2 years ago from Dagfields in Nantwich. Dagfields is an Antique and crafts emporium if you haven't been. If like me you have a love for all things bric-a-brac, vintage and just plain old crap you should check it out!

This camera is probably the best £4 I ever spent, I've got so much use out of it. Unlike lots of other point and shoot cameras I've brought on a whim the flash on this one actually works, meaning I don't have to wait for a sunny day to use it. Which as we all know don't come around very often in Stoke. It's also compact so it doesn't take up to much space in my bag and the quality of images it produces are pretty impressive.

Do any of you guys have a go to camera?

Here's some photos (I'm even in some...which is a rarity) taken with it here, there and everywhere.......

  1. I know I said on Twitter that I don't use film because I don't have the patience, but I do the authenticity of film, no low-fi instagram effects, just real photos. These really emphasise the fun you must have had!

    1. Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog :) I'm glad the fun shines through! One of the main reasons I love film is you capture the real moment and don't have to worry about whether you look good or if the angle was just right. Once you've clicked the shutter there's no going back. Plus you get all the lovely prints at the end :)

  2. Your photos are beautiful, as is your little red camera! I always love the quality of photos film cameras produce, and I love the fact that you have no choice but to invest in the physical form of a photo when you're using film. Photos are something I love to have and hold, and I hate that all of my digital photos are stuck on my laptop (I have started working my way through getting them printed, lots of money spent and heaps of photos gathered so far!). My mum got me one of the lomography cameras for my birthday last year, I haven't tried it yet because I've been waiting for a day when I'm doing something of note (and I always end up forgetting when I am doing something special). I think maybe I should just carry it around and take random snaps, instead of waiting for a day when I can use a film all in one go. My everyday camera is a Nikon J1, and I do love it in its little compact form and with its clear photos. xxx

    1. Thank you so much :) you should totally just carry it around with you! Some of my best shots have been taken on days when I'm not really up to much and just see a pretty sky or a smiling face of a friend that makes me think ooo i should take a photo :) Which lomo camera did you get for your birthday? xx
